Live Weather Station

Chadstone VIC

After 15 months off line and stored in a box, my weather station is once again operational. There may be a few bugs to iron out over the next weeks though!

Wettest Day: 76mm 25th February 2006. During an afternoon of thunderstorms on the 25th, I received 76mm. This remains my highest daily amount recorded on my weather station to date (since records were kept).

Wettest Month: 176mm December 2007. A low pressure system brought over 130mm in 3 days, 55mm of which fell in around an hour on the 21st, causing flash flooding and general chaos on the roads.

Driest Month: 8mm October 2006. Often October is one of Melbourne's wettest months, and 8mm falling for the month in 2006, followed by it's fourth hottest Summer on record, was disastrous for our water storage's. This record has now been surpassed in January 2009, where I recorded no rainfall at all. It was a horrible month leading up to the February Black Saturday bushfires.

Please note: There were no rainfall records kept prior to September 2005. From September 2008 - November 2009 inclusive, the rainfall figures were manually recorded.
